New York : Jones Magazine , the premiere fashion and lifestyle glossy targeting multicultural women, releases its Best in Beauty spring issue, paying homage to 200+ exceptional beauty products hand selected by its team of beauty experts. Helping to add new dimension to Jones' coverage and shape the latest issue is newly appointed Beauty Editor, Felicia Walker Benson.
The special issue marks the magazine's first Best in Beauty Awards ['Best in Beauty', pg.16], where thousands of products from mass, boutique and luxury brands were submitted, tried, tested and rated. Everything from mousses, lotions, anti-aging treatments and lip glosses were sampled, results measured and rated on the basis of efficacy, wearability, advancement, enjoyment of usage and a host of other criterion.
"The idea behind BIB awards list was to cut through the overblown promises, sales pitches, complicated ingredient lists and deliver a highly edited list of products that deliver on their promises," explains Editor in Chief, Tracey Ferguson.
In a rare interview, cosmetic industry grand dame and highly celebrated makeup artist, Pat McGrath provides a closer look into her beginnings, and discusses finding an artists inspiration for innovation ['Work of Art, pg.18]. Estee Lauder's Senior Vice President of Corporate Diversity Marketing, Susan Akkad joins the issue to explore and explain her role helping the beauty industry evolving globally, to meet the needs of multicultural women internationally ['Face Time', pg.42].
Additionally, Jones punctuates the issue with a vibrant spring fashion spread featuring themes sailing straight off the runway and their trademark, "The Big Ideas/ Runway the Real Way" dog earring spring trends from Prada, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana ['Big Ideas', pg.47]. YSL followers will recognize the issue's cover model, Yasmine Warsame in the issue's moody spread.
